Following their mother’s passing, a woman leaves her sister three dollar bills and a note as her inheritance

When Julia and Helga’s father passed, Helga fought their mother, Mrs. Hanson, for more of the inheritance, saying awful things. Julia and Mrs. Hanson devised a plan to teach her a lesson.

“HOW DARE YOU?” Helga screamed over the phone, as Julia listened. Helga was furious that her mother’s will left Julia a larger share due to her years of caregiving, while Helga would get only 30%. Helga, who recently had twins, argued her children deserved more. Mrs. Hanson explained that Julia had sacrificed much for the family, but Helga ended the call, vowing to sue for her share.

After Mrs. Hanson passed, Helga acted distraught at the funeral, though her relatives knew her character. Soon, she began pestering Julia about the inheritance. Finally, Julia told Helga she’d give her 50% of the sale of their mother’s house—though she was lying.

Julia arranged a fake safety deposit box, telling Helga she’d left her share there. When Helga arrived at the bank, she found just three $1 bills and a note: “That’s all you deserve.” Helga’s screams echoed through the bank, and Julia had already blocked her number.

**Lessons from this story:**

– Greed leads to disappointment. Helga’s selfishness left her with nothing.
– Respect a relative’s final wishes. Julia honored her mother’s will, despite Helga’s pestering.
