Rachel, a widow raising her daughter Alicia, struggles to make ends meet as a waitress. When Alicia finds a silk purse inside a second-hand backpack, Rachel decides to return it to its owner. The purse contains Japanese coins, an amulet, and a photo of a couple with a child, along with an address tag for “Amanda Turner.”
Rachel tracks down Amanda’s husband, Ashton, who reveals that Amanda died in a plane crash in Japan, and their daughter, Lexi, had kept the purse as a memento. The purse had been mistakenly sold during their move. Touched by Rachel’s kindness, Ashton invites her and Alicia to visit, and a friendship forms, slowly turning into love.
Years later, Ashton proposes to Rachel. Before accepting, she seeks closure with her late husband, Fred, asking for his blessing to move on. A breeze fills the air, giving Rachel peace, and she embraces her new future with Ashton.
