Karma didn’t let the bride and groom get away with forcing us to serve and clean at their wedding.

What began as an elegant affair at the Belmont Estate quickly spiraled into a nightmare for the guests of Sarah and Tom’s wedding. Upon arrival, we found no valet, no staff, and, shockingly, a bride desperate for help. Sarah and Tom pulled us aside and revealed that their hired team was missing. The solution? Guests, including us, were recruited as unpaid workers to set up, serve, and clean throughout the event.

Dressed in formal wear, we carried tables, folded napkins, and served appetizers while the bride barked orders, and her family lounged in comfort. Tensions grew, culminating in a secret pact among us “staff” to withhold our planned cash gifts as compensation for our labor.

The night hit its climax when Sarah, mid-rant about our decision, toppled into her own wedding cake. Covered in frosting, her fury only fueled our laughter as we left, dignity and wallets intact.

We may not have delivered a traditional gift, but we left them with something unforgettable—a lesson in treating guests with respect. If a little karma came wrapped in cake, so be it.
