When a family surrendered their dog after 24 hours because she was “crying too much,” the shelter staff was perplexed.

Boo was a delicate newborn who began life on the streets with her mother and littermates.

When Animal Control discovered the little family, they brought them to a shelter for safety.

Unfortunately, once reunited in a kennel, the mother rejected her puppies and even became aggressive toward them.

Too young to understand, Boo and her siblings longed for their mother’s warmth and affection.

Due to their fragile condition and need for constant care, the shelter reached out to Compassionate Canine Society, a home-based rescue in El Paso, Texas, for help.

The rescue took in three of the puppies, including Boo, and provided them with warmth and bottle feedings every two hours.

Everything seemed fine during their first week in foster care, but Boo soon fell ill. A vet diagnosed her with pneumonia and prescribed antibiotics.

Not long after, her siblings, Sulley and Mike, also became sick.

The vet wasn’t optimistic about their chances of survival, but the rescue team refused to give up. They provided round-the-clock love and care, and the puppies began to show signs of improvement.

Day by day, the pups grew stronger and started to reveal their individual personalities. Boo, in particular, liked to keep to herself, often sneaking off to quiet corners to enjoy some solitude.

Eventually, it was time to find the puppies their forever homes.

Boo caught the eye of a woman who welcomed her through the rescue’s “Foster to Adopt” program, which allows a trial period before finalizing the adoption.

Everyone at the rescue was thrilled, hopeful that Boo had finally found happiness.

But just one day later, their excitement turned to sorrow. The woman called to say she wanted to return Boo because the puppy cried too much.

The staff, though saddened, reassured her that returning Boo was okay. They understood that the little pup missed her siblings and needed time to adjust.

That evening, Boo was brought back to the rescue. To the staff’s shock, she had a bump on her head. Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing serious, and the swelling soon went down.

Despite being returned, Boo remained resilient. She bounced back quickly, playing around the rescue as if nothing had happened.

Luckily, there was already a lot of interest in adopting Boo. She soon went to another foster-to-adopt home.

Let’s hope this time everything works out, and Boo finally finds the loving, forever home she deserves.

After such a tough start in life, this little fighter truly deserves peace, joy, and a lifetime of love.
