Every day, a dog waits outside of a closed business until a curious boy follows him.
Eighteen-year-old Chris worked near a closed-down bike shop, where he noticed a lonely Shiba Inu named Ollie waiting by the glass doors every day. The dog was clearly not a stray—he was too clean and calm—and locals mentioned he belonged to Mr. Lawrence, the shop’s owner, who hadn’t been seen for weeks.
During his lunch breaks, Chris started feeding Ollie, though the dog never ate immediately. Instead, Ollie would grab the food and run off. Curious, Chris followed him one day and was led miles away to a locked, abandoned house. Inside, he discovered a starving German Shepherd, Max, trapped and weak. Ollie had been slipping food through a hole in the door to keep his friend alive.
Chris called the police, who rescued Max and found Mr. Lawrence’s body in a nearby shed—he had passed away suddenly, leaving his dogs alone. Chris decided to bring Ollie home, despite his girlfriend Mila’s dislike of pets. She was upset, but Chris stood firm.
The next morning, Ollie was gone. Chris feared Mila had gotten rid of him—until he found Ollie back at the bike shop, still trying to help Max. Once Max recovered, Chris and Mila welcomed him into their home. Though Mila was hesitant at first, she grew to love both dogs.
What began with a simple act of feeding a hungry dog turned into something far more profound: two rescued dogs, a new friendship, and a fresh start for a small, devoted family.
